Cavtat is situated at the south slopes of the peninsula. Known as Epidaurus in ancient times, today it is the tourist and cultural center of Konavle, the southernmost region of Croatia. In the times of the Dubrovnik Republic, Cavtat was the second most important seaport, place of trade and of administration in the Republic after Dubrovnik. There are few historical places which you should visit while staying in beautiful Cavtat.
