Apartment GIULIA comprises a ground floor and a mezzanine (see the floor plans)
There is an independent entrance directly from the garden, through a veranda area created by a retractable awning. Use of this veranda is exclusively for guests of Giulia.
On the ground floor:
Living-Kitchen area with 2- seater sofa, table and chairs, an induction hob, oven and cooking equipment, a bathroom with shower and washing machine, a bedroom with 2 single beds.
On the mezzanine: 2 single beds accessible by stairs. ( see photos)
The bedroom, living areas and mezzanine have independent air conditioning.
We also have direct access to the cycle route along the Po River.
The conditions shown for “Giulia ” are valid for all our apartments, are all inclusive and cover the entire house, per night, NOT per person.
Prices include all services, utilities and taxes, with no hidden fees or costs. It also includes wifi and parking, air-conditioning, heating and cleaning.

Our holiday apartments are near the OSTIGLIA train station, which is about 8km, just 10 minutes by car from Corte Spinata. There is ample free parking here. This station is located on the important BRENNERO-VERONA-Ostiglia-BOLOGNA line). Only local/regional trains stop at Ostiglia station.
Trains run frequently in both directions. It connects you directly, quickly and cheaply to:
a.VERONA PORTA NUOVA (30 minutes, €5.55) and
b.BOLOGNA CENTRALE (1hr, €6.70).
You can get to VERONA FAIR from Corte Spinata in a total of 60 minutes! Equally convenient for the ARENA OPERA FESTIVAL:
10 min by car from Corte Spinata to Ostiglia train station
30 min by train from Ostiglia to Verona PN train station and then
20 min- a walking distance - from Verona train Station to:
• the south of Verona to the Fair ENTRANCE
• the center of Verona to the ENTRANCE of the ARENA Opera.
You can get to either location without the stress of traffic and parking. There are also shuttle buses, taxis and electric scooters available.If your group of guests require it, we can hire a people carrier for you.
I’m afraid we can’t book trips or events for you, but we are here to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We recommend booking tickets for events or shows well in advance before leaving home to avoid any disappointment.

Corte Spinata is located on the Po river cycle path and between two villages :
• 1, 7 km by car from Melara (1800 inhab)
• 2.9 km by car from Bergantino (2,500 inhab)
Italy’s longest river, the Po, was once called the “king of rivers” by Virgil (“fluviorum rex”)
The poet Guido Ceronetti once wrote: “You need to understand the Po to understand Italy,”
The river was, for millennia, a vital transport hub, part of the trade route for Baltic amber in the bronze age. So there are many fascinating archaeological finds from the Bronze age (12th century BC) in the area, don’t miss the museum in Fratta Polesine.
The “Court”, in our local area, was where several families related to each other, 50 people lived together. They cultivated the surrounding land and raised animals. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century this agrarian community produced and used what they needed, the extended families helping and supporting each other.
Within the Court they had everything they needed : the well, the oven, the stables, the chicken coops and even a devotional chapel. The name SPINATA was already present in the Carafa land register of 1779 and was owned by the Bianchini family, who had lived here since the seventeenth century. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Bianchini house passed to the Ridolfi family as a dowry. In 2012, we bought it, renovated it with love and care, built the apartments and started welcoming guests. The Bianchini family emigrated to Sydney, in Australia and their descendants periodically return to spend holidays in Corte Spinata. And so Therese Bianchini and Ross P. (Sydney Australia, 4 -10 September 2023) left us this message, which we are happy to quote word for word:“What a peaceful place tucked away in the small village of Melara.....Do as little as you want or as much as you want. A trip to Ferrara, Bologna, or Verona,( Just to name a few) are closer than you think.......
Corte Spinata is the perfect base for enjoying Italian nature and culture. Our apartments are ideal for truly relaxing: snoozing, reading, looking at the internet, cycling along the river Po, fishing, playing in the open fields or pottering around the vegetable garden.
Our guests can easily get to the following places for DAY TRIPS :

1) LEGNAGO train station (20 km) and then train to VENEZIA S..L. (1hr 40 min €8.55)
2) MONSELICE train station (80 km ) and then train to VENEZIA S..L. (52 min €6.25)
3) OSTIGLIA train station (8.7 km and 10 minutes) from there to Verona (30 minutes, €5.55) and then from Verona to Venice Santa Lucia (times distance and various fares).
…..Of course you can reach Venice by car, keeping in mind parking should be booked in advance.
In the Venice direction, you’ll find the charming of VICENZA and PADOVA.
