It is located in a very important and historical place as it was in the ancient century the summer resort of the Portuguese kings.
"Azenhas do mar" is a small village hanging on the vertical cliffs over the sea formed by little white-washed houses, trimmed in blue, that seem to cling to the rocks over the sea, ending in a very small beach with a natural swimming pool. With a strong fishing traditions, Azenhas do Mar is a popular place both in Summer and Winter, due to the beautiful view it offers. This romantic house has a very nice 1500 m² garden with a private swimming pool (10m x 4,20m) with child care, and an excellent view to the sea. It has a barbecue area and garden furniture.
There are beach and pool toys, pool sunbeds.
The house is new and fully equipped because it has been reconstructed recently. It has 3 bedrooms, all of them with view towards the sea and exit to the garden, 2 complete bathrooms, one with shower and one with jacuzzi. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a living and dining room with fireplace and a lovely view to the swimming pool, garden and to the sea.
The house has free Internet, travel beds available for children, a high chair for children meals and toys, etc.
The house is located in Azenhas do Mar-Colares, 10 km from Sintra, world heritage site declared by UNESCO.
It is 1,5 km far from Praia das Maçãs, where you can go by foot along the cliffs. There you will find restaurants where you can taste the very appreciated Portuguese gastronomy (fish and seafood), one of the best in the world, cafes, bars, discotheques as well as shops selling local crafts and a swimming-pool with sea water.
5 Km from Colares, a demarcated wine-growing region, famous for its excellent wine, which can be tasted in "Adega Regional de Colares".
Near several white sandy beaches like Adraga (3 Km), considered in 2003 the most beautiful beach in Europe, Praia Grande (2 Km), Aguda (1,5 Km), Magoito (4 Km) and Praia da Ursa, a naturist beach near Cabo da Roca, 4 km of distance, the westernmost point on the European continent, defined by the poet Camões as "where the land ends and the sea begins".
In 15 km far you can find Guincho'/Cascais where the world championship of windsurf is held and famous for the kyte surf.
Lisbon, the capital is only 40 Km far from the house where you can find great historical value monuments, theatres, cinemas, Parque das Nacoes (theme park) where had been held the Expo 98, shopping areas, zoo and typical restaurants where you can take the excellent traditional Portuguese cooking while listening the famous Fado, for instance in Bairro Alto.
With the inauguration of the railway between Lisbon and Sintra in 1887, Sintra became popular as a summer resort that attracted the middle class of Lisbon, while at the same time attracted well known scientists and historians, who began methodically to study Sintra's ancient heritage.
Golf courses is nearby in Sintra or Cascais.
Earlier morning there are fishing boats 500 m in front of the house and you can also hear and watch the lovely gulls flying above the sea. Good to explore Sintra/Cascais area.
