Boat:
Included is a license-free, open, approx. 16 foot fishing boat with 10 hp (engine update to 15 hp) Yamaha outboard, without chart plotter echo sounder. The stable boat is suitable for 3-4 people and easy to drive even for beginners, suitable for fishing trips in the archipelago and in the fjord area. Life jackets / aids are available for all sizes. The boat is moored at its own berth at the jetty below the house.

A boathouse, a private boat mooring and an equipment room are at your disposal. In our non-smoking vacation home, the minimum rental period is 14 days, and we offer flexible changeover days, except on Saturday.

"Lyngsvag" is not just a vacation home - it is a highlight in our program! Because this private, fully equipped retreat is located in a traffic-calmed zone and is only 50 meters from the boathouse. Access to the property is controlled by telephone, guaranteeing you control over your privacy. Enjoy the silence and the breathtaking view over the fjord from your terrace or the bathing dock (after instruction). Swim at the jetty or on the shoreline, go on excursions and fishing trips by motorboat in the fjords or explore the surrounding forests.
The included fishing boat at the new boathouse is a stable, open 16-foot boat with a 15 hp Yamaha outboard motor and is license-free. Whether you are an experienced angler or a beginner, this boat is well suited for adventures in the archipelago and fjord area. Your boat is moored at its own berth next to the boathouse, just a short walk from your vacation home.
This well-kept vacation site is very suitable for a family with children (max. 6 adults, 1 baby). A small fishing group (no hardcore anglers please) with max. 4 adults is very welcome. Recommended journey - ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you choose the cheapest ferries ( or ) and book them reliably on request.
The journey time to the properties in the region is approx. 1 hr. 30 min. The long-distance buses go directly to Lyngdal from Kristiansand or Stavanger. From Lyngdal there is another bus connection to Farsund (the driver stops on request).
How to get there with your own vehicle:
After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths on the route. We recommend: If you wish to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will later receive an invoice from the toll operator for the charges incurred. However, you can also register in advance with your vehicle at (advance payment with subsequent billing, somewhat cumbersome)
How to get there: Leave the "E39" at the Lyngdal exit and then drive towards Farsund. Follow the RV 43 in the direction of Farsund. After 13 km on the 43, turn left at the Bjoernevag Ferien / Farsund Resort sign onto the FV656 (Bjørnevågsveien). Continue for 7 km to your destination and turn right off Bjørnevågsveien onto Lyngsvågveien. Drive up to the barrier and call Tommy. If you have never driven this route before, it is advisable to prepare yourself with a route planner or road map. Please remember to stock up on Norwegian kroner at an ATM in Lyngdal. These are necessary for purchases and possibly for paying the deposit. Almost all stores accept credit cards and (bank) debit cards.
Fishing and leisure activities in Farsund and the Bjoernevag region
Fishing in Farsund, Bjoernevag, Nordstranda and the waters outside Katland on the sea up to Cape Lindesnes.
In the area around Farsund with its fjords, island gardens, archipelago and the extremely fish-rich plateaus on the sea off Katland and the Kletten, water sports activities and saltwater fishing (all types) are at the top of your daily program. For diving, kiting, surfing and recreational and amateur anglers, the area is always full of surprises.
Good catches of handsome sea fish such as cod, pollack, coalfish, long and lump, sometimes halibut, as well as mackerel in abundance are brought home especially from the sea hotspots off Farsund, between Lindesnes Fyr and Lista Fyr. Of course, we know that the success rates depend on the weather, the season and the currents, but that's the way it is all over Norway on the coastal stretches. The open sea with its plateaus Nesskletten, Svaneflua, Rauna and other good fishing spots should only be approached with suitable boats and only in stable weather.
What is important to us: You should only head for offshore fishing spots in stable weather and with a suitable boat! Small dinghies should avoid offshore fishing areas and have no place on the open sea.

After all, the entire area offers more than 20 species of fish that can be caught. You can fish between the islands and skerries, or in the sheltered fjord with hardly any down days to speak of, virtually in any weather. In good weather with little wind, you can easily reach the open sea and the sandy plateaus from most of the locations. In the wintery spring, the herring come to the coast, joined by strong cod and coalfish.
From some of the jetties you can catch flatfish, flounder and meagre, as well as other sea fish. The owner can usually give you good weather tips and advice on worthwhile fishing spots. Wind-protected fishing in the fjord is almost always possible. So if you want to combine fishing and family, a short journey and lots of alternative vacation activities, this region is the place for you.
From Farsund or Borhaug you can book professionally guided fishing trips. The operator Björnevags also offers guided deep-sea and deep-sea fishing tours, for example, with M/S Bjørnevåg, 32 ft/100 hp, certified for 5-8 people. The tour lasts approx. 6 hours and is only carried out with a binding confirmation. (Only bookable and payable on site in Björnevag).
Fishing at Nordstranda:
Shoals of mackerel and other marine fish species move into the Helvikfjorden near Norstranda at various times of the year. From April onwards, fishing for sea trout directly from the jetty at Nordstranda or at "Svingbru v Bøensbakken" is absolutely promising and successful. The best mefo fishing, in our opinion, can be found on the shores and beaches of Farsund, or even in the city center under the bridge when the wind is blowing. We tested this ourselves and were quite successful.
In the summer of 2023, a herd of peaceful killer whales (orcas) even moved into the inner fjords and stayed there for several weeks to feed and rest. Visitors should keep their boats away from these majestic animals and the seals and always keep a safe distance.
Did you know that you can take a boat from our new Nordstranda facility near Helvik through the fjords to Lyngdal or Apta? Or in just 15 minutes directly to the center of Farsund and from there quickly to the open sea, past the Katland lighthouse?

Boat insurance - hull:
Hull insurance is usually taken out for the boat. The excess in the event of damage is 1000 euros. The amount of the excess may vary and must be requested from the respective boat owner when taking over the boat and documented on the checklist. Personal items are not insured. The hull insurance is not liable for accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental property. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat if the damage is not covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The lessor/owner may retain the deposit paid until the damage has been repaired. The excess per case of damage is to be borne by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned free of defects, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be replaced by the hirer immediately before departure. The hirer undertakes to notify the lessor/owner immediately of any damage, collisions, other unusual occurrences or complaints.
Motorboat license:
For guests born before 01.01.1980, no license for motorboats of this class is required in Norway. For younger persons, a boating license for boats with more than 25 hp is mandatory.
Binding rules of conduct - renter's liability:
We recommend that the skipper refrain from drinking alcohol on the boat.
The hirer is liable for damage caused by themselves and also for all damage caused by other users of the boat. The use of the boat is at the renter's and all other users own risk. The hirer shall inform his crew in good time that they may need to take out appropriate insurance against loss events themselves before the start of the trip. In addition, the skipper must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the terms of the contract and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on the trips.
If fish cleaning is to be carried out on the boat or on an appropriate filleting table on the jetty, please dispose of the fish waste at sea and not in the harbour basin. Always cover fish waste (seagulls).
Restriction of area:
Voyages are only permitted in the fjords, not on the open sea.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to observe the navigation rules may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the lessor/owner. Claims of the tenant are therefore deemed forfeited.
Cleaning the boat:
The Hirer must carry out the thorough final cleaning of the boat themselves. The Hirer shall return the boat in the same clean condition as it was handed over by the Rental Firm.

Important: In order to absorb the drastically increasing energy costs, we have to charge an additional 7 euros per overnight stay.
Charging hybrid or e-cars via the house electricity is not permitted and is only allowed at the approved charging stations.

Excluded and not included in the rental price: Insurance for accident cover, personal liability insurance.
Final cleaning - bed linen and towel sets
Final cleaning is not included in the price of this property, but is offered as an option. The tenant can carry out the thorough final cleaning themselves if they wish, or they can commission this in Norway for 150 euros and pay when they move in. Please make sure you have the right size comforter covers and fitted sheets if you bring them yourself. Towels should also be brought along or can be ordered as a linen set with the comforter covers for €20 per set. For reasons of hygiene, we would ask you not to use sleeping bags under any circumstances!

House-specific information:
All houses and apartments are non-smoking. Please be considerate of your neighbors at midday and at night and observe the usual quiet times. Drinking water is valuable, just like ours. We would therefore ask you to use drinking water carefully, especially in summer. The use of available firewood is subject to a charge.
Children are very welcome, a baby travel crib is available free of charge if required. Fish cleaning must be done on the boat (device on the boat) in the harbor, or on an appropriate filleting table. The gutting and scaling of fish on or in the house is not permitted. Fish waste must be disposed of at sea and not in the harbor basin.
