We’re just a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride to the closest Torch Lake public swimming access which is also downtown Alden where there are restaurants, a coffee shop/bakery, shopping, art galleries & ice cream!
Welcoming, adorable farmhouse on a wide-open countryside setting with views reminiscent of a fairytale in the summer with all the flowers, perfectly manicured lawn and birds a chirpin’. The perfect spot for a family summer getaway and its just as beautiful covered in snow, great for a cozy ski weekend. The entire home received a fresh coat of paint inside and out last year and we have updated most of the home with new appliances, fixtures, flooring along with ceiling & countertop treatments. A fully fenced in private backyard with flowers and an herb garden, a patio set that seats 6 for dining that’s nestled under the recently built upper deck which offers great shade, a firepit with seating and a hot tub that’s perfect for two. There’s also a hammock that’s nestled away with some extra seating nearby for another little hangout space, perfect for your teens who want to be outside with you but not near you. The large upper deck is accessed through the upstairs bedroom, it has sun lounging chairs, bench seating and great views. We have three cozy bedrooms with all the blankets and pillows you could ever want all have TV’s with Roku and fans and there are bathrooms just outside each bedroom door. There two full baths with shower/tub combination; both bathrooms are well stocked with hair dryers, curlers, towels, lotions & potions! Our living room has a couch that seats three which also doubles as a pull out bed and two wicker chairs with ottomans. There’s a 42” TV with a Roku device, dvd/vhs player, plethora of dvds and vhs’s, a SEGA game console for two with a few games and a one player console with “vintage” games. In the living room in the under stairwell closet that has been converted it into the “comic book nook” great for your kiddo or your child at heart with extra cushy seating comic books a plenty, my childhood Gameboy with games, board games and fun lighting! A fully appointed kitchen with all new stainless/black appliances, we also keep some of the basics to get you by like flour, oils, spices, coffee & tea and varying breakfast supplies such as cereal or morning bars and juice. There is a vintage stereo console in the kitchen set up with an AUX cord to listen to music with your phone. There is bar seating with three stools and an extra in the entryway closet and a cute breakfast nook to soak up that morning sun with a cup of coffee.
~All bedrooms and the living room have a Tv with a roku device and a fan stored in the closet along with extra bedding & pillows~
~The main floor bedroom has a king size memory foam mattress.
~The living room has a queen size spring sofa bed.
~The upstairs master bedroom has a king size memory foam mattress and an extra down filled mattress topper kept in the chest at the foot of the bed.
~The upstairs bedroom with the walk out patio has two queen sized memory foam mattresses. ***There is also a chain lock at the very top of the slider door for child safety***
~And one queen sized electric inflatable mattress kept in the upstairs walk-in closet
Alden park is a great place for kids, there's a tennis court, play ground and also an amazing farmers market every Friday morning in the summertime. The Alden Torch Lake boat launch is also a great place to sit and enjoy sunsets along with the many lake access points. If you enjoy a nice little walk there is Coy Mountain Natural Area just 2 miles down the road and for longer hikes Grass River Natural Area is just 4 miles down the road.
Explore nearby attractions such as Traverse City 25 miles away with gorgeous wineries, beaches, award winning restaurants, Cherry fest & Film fest in the summer and so so much more. The gorgeous sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is an hour drive from our place but so incredibly worth it. Turtle Creek Casino 15 miles away and a short 20 minute drive to Bellaire will offer you boutiques, antiques and good food as well as more great hiking trails such as the Glacial springs walking trails. Northern Michigan offers some of the best golfing in the states, the A-Ga-Ming Golf course 20 miles and the Gaylord Golf Mecca 35 miles amongst many more.
For winter fun we are surrounded by slopes for all your snowy desires. There's great tubing/skiing/boarding just 20 miles away at Mt. Holiday where you can warm up with nice views hot cocoa & cocktails. There's Boyne Mountain Resort with the world's first ever chairlift. They have ten chairlifts, a carpet lift, 60 runs including all of the standard difficulty ratings, from green to double black. This is also the location of Avalanche Bay, Michigan’s largest waterpark. They also have zip lining & golf.
Whenever you choose to plan your stay there is an abundance of beautiful memories to be made both on and off the farm!

The attached two car garage is our storage space and off limits. This home is on a 5 acre lot where the little house on the lefthand side is also a rental and the rest of the back acreage is used for farming and our free range chickens.
We're nearby if you need us. Always available for questions by phone/text/email. You may see us around the 5 acre lot tending to the farm.
*During stay housekeeping can be pre arranged for a small fee.
