Just over the border in Suffolk, Clare Country Park offers scenic walks, the ruins of a medieval castle, and a lovely spot for a picnic. Halstead, the nearest town, is only 7.5 miles away and boasts cafes, supermarkets and parks for leisurely strolls. Hedingham Castle, a Norman keep with beautiful gardens makes for a great spot for history buffs. The castle hosts events throughout the year, including medieval re-enactments and open-air theatre performances.
Situated on the estate, which is set in 6 acres of beautiful grounds and surrounded by rolling fields, is this lovely woodland lodge that can accommodate up to six guests. Step inside this and you are welcomed into an open plan kitchen/living and dining space. The kitchen has all you need making cooking and preparing meals a breeze. A dining table is at the centre of the room and can seat everyone together. The living space has a comfy corner sofa and a Smart TV with access to streaming services. French doors lead out from here to the veranda and enclosed garden. There are two bedrooms available. The first a delightful king-size with the second housing a bespoke bunk bed and two further single beds to accommodate four guests. Finishing the lodge, there is a contemporary family shower room.
This wonderful woodland getaway is great for all the family with plenty of activities to enjoy directly on your doorstep. Toast marshmallows on the fire pit, take a soak under the stars in your private hot tub, play a spot of tennis on the shared court or head to the games room for unlimited fun! Not only can you do all of this but there is an enclosed dog friendly paddock for your four legged friends to enjoy as well as lots of public footpaths that meander through the surrounding fields too.
