Our 19th century stone house is situated on a very beautiful hill surrounded by olive groves, fig trees, pomegranates, vineyards and woods where nightingales sing in the spring, with glorious views south towards the Massif de la Sainte Baume and the Massif des Maures as well as north with the first slopes announcing the Alpes de Haute Provence. Ten acres of private grounds surround Beaurecueil and a dirt lane (1km), unaccessible to low slung cars, leads up to it.
The house has kept all of its original charm and authenticity although it has just been renovated so you will find all the comforts and conveniences of a modern home. It is an ideal holiday setting for couples and small families seeking relaxation and a 'retour aux sources' in the heart of Provence. The interior is decorated with taste, there are marble floors and antique marble mosaic in the bathroom. A large shaded terrace faces south with a wonderful view, another terrace with four sun loungers faces a stone fountain and a splash pool where you can cool off in summer and a third covered terrace on the first floor. It's also a spectacular place for star gazing as there is no light pollution. Of course the house is fully equipped and you will find all major necessities for a lightweight arrival: bed linen, towels, dish-towels, cleaning products, toilet paper, etc. and also : tea, coffee, milk, cereals, pasta, etc. There is a small quality stereo system with radio, USB, CD and jack so that you can listen to your favourite music.
If you have small children they will be thrilled with the extra large sandpit.
If you enjoy cooking there is everything you need: heavy iron skillets, sharp knives, cake moulds, rolling-pin, kitchen scale, electric egg whisk, hand blender, large serving dishes, etc. double doors lead from the kitchen directly to the south terrace. And for those of you who enjoy walking there are plenty of paths that will take you for miles up and down the countryside and to the surrounding villages.

Beaurecueil is only a short drive from three charming Provençal villages where you will find restaurants, shops, cafés, etc. Cotignac with its beautiful stone cliff, is a 'Village de Caractère' and one of the most authentic villages of the region, Entrecasteaux is known for its imposing castle and Carcès has a pretty lake. In every village, there is a picturesque market held once a week.
Beaurecueil is ideally situated to visit the region, whether you like wine tasting, gastronomical restaurants or visiting outstanding places. Sainte-Croix lake and the beautiful Gorges du Verdon 'Grand Site de France' is only 45 minutes away. The very lovely Abbaye du Thoronet, true jewel of Romanesque art (18 km.). Saint-Tropez, Aix-en-Provence and Cannes are each about an hour away. Nice, Marseille and Avignon are between one and a half and two hours away. The Italian coast is only a little further. On the other hand, if you stay here you might just forget the world and enjoy the simple pleasures of life: reading a book, going for a walk, indulge in farniente, or if you have children just sit back and take time to watch them grow, like I have.
